This is part of the ground work being done for next year.

It's not possible to formulate a bill of this session, but now is the time to start working toward it for next year.

Thankyou to all who sign and share. :)

The petition is too cc oriented. I think this would inhibit OC in this state. If we're gonna petition in La it should be to get rid of most of RS 14.95.

First we need to elect more Republicans to the state house and senate. We also need to find a way to get rid of the speaker. All he does is assign gun bills to Democrat controlled comities.

First, It's a petition. It is not a bill and we have passed the deadline to introduce bills for this legislative session which is focused on financial matters.
Second, this petition was put up by people who have come here to attack those who have been promoting open carry for nearly a decade. We were then told that they did not want any support from us in anyway including promoting their meetings, events or other efforts. Which is fine with me. If they want to put up petitions or hold demonstrations while wearing their "I will not comply, I will not lie down, I will not ...." t-shirts then that's fine. More power to them. I'm busy meeting lawmakers and business owners and working gun show tables to worry about their petition.

Wow ... thanks .. I think?

Yes the petition is orientated toward the CC, because that's what we are trying to remove the requirement to get a permit from. It will not inhibit OC as, per law, no new laws can be passed further restricting what we have now. Once we get Const. Carry in place we can then start addressing the restrictions on where and when etc and bring balance between the 2 styles.

We spoke with several Reps. regarding getting a bill into this years session and they felt the timing was wrong as, as has been noted, it's predominately a fiscal session this year. With elections next year more Reps will have time to look at and address issues such as Const. Carry that could bring in votes for them.

"petition was put up by people who have come here to attack those who have been promoting open carry for nearly a decade" Wow Steve - where on earth did that come from? An open carry rights advocacy group attacking another for wanting the same thing? This condescending attitude should stop as we're all focused on the sam thing.

Sure we may go about it in different ways, but that's the way it is supposed to work. That's how ideas come forward toward the common goal.

If someone does not support Const. Carry then that's fine, it's their choice to do so as a person's free will and self determination is at the core of this Nation.

We made repeated attempts at peace between the two groups and were soundly rebuffed at every turn and attacked online as well as offline. Since then we leave them alone UNLESS they involve us. I would MUCH rather work together than against each other but that is on LOCA, not us. THEY abandoned LOCAL, they ripped off our web info, organization material, everything and then claimed to be all that simply because they wanted to be the Kings and not participate in an established group. Had they actually put forth the effort and worked WITH us they could have possibly been the leaders of THIS group by now.

There is great support for this petition. We have over 3,000 signatures so far, but we want everyone who supports CC to have a chance to sign it. The more signatures that we have, the more likely it is that we will have our voices heard. Please sign and share it every way you can, so we can keep the momentum going.

(For those who have come here only to insult and create division, if you support Constitutional Carry, but are trying to cause dissension because of some old grudge that you are holding on to, you can stop saying that you are a valid gun rights organization. Childishness does not help the cause. Thank you. That is all.)

Actually, I signed the petition and let my name be displayed. We will NOT attack but we will defend. As I stated, I'd rather work together.

Louisiana already has Open Carry which allows anyone that can legally possess a firearm to carry it openly for self defense and the defense of others. No permit required. Constitutional Carry allows those same people to conceal that firearm if they wish, without a permit. Everyone knows that criminals do not obey the law. They are carrying concealed without regard for the law. Requiring a permit for a law abiding citizen to carry concealed gives a criminal the upper hand. Why would we want to do that?

At Louisiana Carry we are pushing for a Constitutional Carry bill here in Louisiana. We already have over 10,000 signatures but we need many more. Please sign and don't forget to share to help spread the word.

Legislative Info on Regular Session Pre-filed Constitutional Carry Bills

Update on where "Constitutional Carry Bills" are for the up coming "Regular Session" starting in Late March. State Representative Barry Ivey has pre-filed two bills for Louisiana Citizen's Constitutional right to carry any way a citizen so chooses. House Bills 4 (Constitutional Amendment) and 6 (state statute) address the right to conceal carry without a state issued permit as a statute and as a constitutional amendment. I am not sure but if you want to speak in support of the pending legislation try contacting the House Committee where the Bills were sent after Rep. Ivey pre-filed his two Bills. Both bills are pending before the House Administration of Criminal Justice Committee. I suggest contacting the chairmen of the committee as soon as possible to get on the list to speak before the committee when the Bill comes up for consideration. When I get a chance I will post the names of the members of the House Administration of Criminal Justice Committee when I can locate and put the list together. Until then everybody stay safe and aware!
