A possible job opportunity has presented itself in Cody, WY. My wife and I are actively searching for any information we can find about the city, its people and the lifestyle in the area. Winter is my wife's concern, but the two of us have spent most of our lives in the West, having lived near Boise, Idaho.

I'm excited at the prospect of moving to a Constitutional Carry state, but would love to hear from anyone in the Cody/Powell area that could shed some light on what it might be like moving to a small (ish) Wyoming city...

Thanks in advance.

Coming from Hawaii... be ready for the cold, I'm here in South-West Wyoming and it is snowing right now, it's also no big surprise if it snows all year long..

It's a slow pace life here, nothing dramatic or ground breaking ever happens hear unless Yellowstone decides to erupt... There is plenty of wild life and hiking to do...

another thing I have encountered with people in other states is.

*Yes we have indoor plumbing...
*Yes, we have electricity and phones...
*No, We do not have any more "Cowboy Draw matches" in the middle of the street..
*No, were not being attacked by Indians anymore..

But all in all, Wyoming is not a bad state, just kinda boring... I think it's why our beer is so potent. ;)

Coming from HI

Sounds alot like this part of the world...slow, quiet and rural.

Believe me, the Big Island of Hawaii is a great place, but year round summer isn't all its cracked up to be!

Spent most of my life in the West, sorta anxious to get back to it. Sorry to hear about the lack of Indian attacks

Thanks for your input.

I sent you a PM. I moved to Cody from Southern California in 2005. I do not frequent the Buffalo Bill Historical center because they frown on open and concealed carry. Other than the BBHC, it's a near perfect place to live!
