This OCDO forum is being polluted by punks with anti-leo attitudes. People who've never been near the border projecting all sorts of crap that may result in 'them vs us' animosity. I've about had it with these pot bellied e-thug dumplings in short pants who come into my state and bring their ******** with them.... much less the rest of these idiots carping from elsewhere who have NO real concept of the border or attendant problems. Adios OCDO. I'm lookin' for where to unplug myself from this nonsense.

At the border you lose rights. Away from the boarder you have all your rights and you do not have to talk or show ID. Watch a few of the videos above. Keep asking if you are being detained and if you are free to go. Most BP agents now know that you do not have to respond to them at the inland roadblocks.

How far from the border is "away from the border"? When you are CROSSING the border coming into the US, you lose SOME of the protections normally enjoyed (seach comes to mind)...but what rights specifically do you think you lose if you are not actually CROSSING the border?

Great. Thank you for finally taking your very own "love it or leave it" advice by electing the latter. Good luck in your quest to defend [STRIKE]your[/STRIKE] our state against the "pot bellied e-thug dumplings in short pants."

I grew up in El Paso. Explain to me hoe a family with a black father, white mother, both military officers at the time and two kids had our car turned inside out every time we left El Paso on a road trip. Every time detained for an hour or more...

What??? Did we look like illegals or drug dealers???

We always had more problems from leos than we ever did from illegals. Imagine that...

If you've read my other posts you'll realize I'm not anti-LEO at all, but these checkpoints are useless (and in some ways, unconstitutional) security theatre, they do nothing to help catch illegals. The dogs are unconstitutional, they detect drugs and explosives and are thus a general crime control checkpoint made illegal by Edmund v. City Indianapolis. unless the dog is an "immigration status-sniffing dog" then it's not legal under current case law which only allows checkpoints in order to make brief immigration queries.

I'm a U.S. citizen, born in Seattle, WA which last I checked is within the contigous borders of the united states, therefore If I visit Arizona, I specfically expect to have my rights as a citizen as long as I am subject to US juristiction. sorry if that idea is offensive to you. but glad to know where you stand. Rights mean nothing to you as long as they're applied to for the "official" purpose of finding illegal aliens?

Hey SR, stick around for a while.

By now you must realize that someone left the back gate open again, allowing strays to crap in our yard.

Trickster has only been on this subforum for a few weeks, but has managed to pizz off a few regulars. (Tricksters name explains his attitude toward those older than him), My guess is he's a college student from a Liberal college up north who ran out of weed, Beer or got dumped by some sorority chick. So he stirs the pot. Students like him are conditioned how to tweek the nose of authority and not cry when biitch slapped in return.

In time he and others like him will move on.

Odds are you will never see Trickster and his kind at an AZCDL OC dinner meet.

After all, a computer is a wonderful device to hide behind.

Okay where to start?

GW I have stood not 3 feet from you at a AzCDL meeting, am I a outsider too? I have been on this forum for a number of years (be it under another screen name that reflected my location at that time in another Border State). I am an Arizonan too, as it says so on my: Drivers License, CCW, and voter registration card. So I have to ask what makes one an "outsider" in your mind? I have been through many Border Check points in my time and I have to say, I too find it worry-some when BP agents are operating 15-30 miles inland of the border or more.

I have some other news for you also GW - this forum is only the "back yard" of Mike & John who own it. Not mine, yours, Rebels or Tricksters for that matter. I would think you might want to extend a hand to fellow freedom loving citizens instead of shunning them? But that's where we differ I guess, and that probably makes me an "outsider" too once again in your mind? You live in Tucson: (known for not always having the most pro2A officials) yet you burn bridges here instead of building them? Why? One thing is certain, calling everyone here "outsiders and pot stirs etc.. sure is NOT going to make them want to jump into the fray and help you in any of your causes now will it?

Peace be with you GW and I wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving.

I've never gone thru a checkpoint unarmed... here, NM or TX. 'Only thing I been asked (if at all) is: 'Are you n American citizen?' Yes! 'Get waved on... have a nice day. Once i had the AK clone stuffed between the seat and the center console (in AZ).: 'Nice gun!' Don't do that in Texas.

You go lookin' for a confrontation, you'll find it. The dork with the video camera playing provacateur needs a boot in his hissy-fit ass. 'Like that Trickster? But... you're a 'resident of Arizona' huh? So why the query as to traversing the checkpoints while armed? Anyone whose lived here any time at all has done so. People do it everyday... In fact, like most LEO's they assume everyone in AZ is armed. Where do you think these BP people live? Cleveland?

I joined AZCDL and post on this forum because I believe in freedom. I was at the last meeting.
Government has no right to detain me in a roadblock. Stop supporting government intrusions upon me.

Don't confuse my desire to address false accusations and childish behavior with an inability to be impersonal. :D

Neither will I be confused by you pretending that a desire to address false accusations and childish behavior the way you did is anything other than taking it personally.

The only regulars that I have managed to "pizz off" are you and Sonora Rebel, and all I did to upset the both of you was to ask a few questions and state my opinion on one topic. Unfortunately, the two of you are hardly omnipotent. Your ad hominem attacks via name calling, grotesquely absurd assumptions, and overall childish behavior serves to add nothing meaningful to this thread. You go on to speak of me hiding behind a computer as if there's anything for me to hide from, yet you are the one attempting to provoke me to anger. Indeed, there is someone here stirring the pot and it is you. I also find your statement concerning my "attitude" towards people older than me to be ludicrous at best. You do not know my age and even if you did, it is irrelevant. An individual's age does not entitle them to be disrespectful towards whomever they please and for any reason. Respect begets respect but your hubris does not.

I took the blather personally. I'm an Arizonan and don't appreciate two loudmouths acting like we're a bunch of outsiders who are flooding this state with liberal ideology. They even go as far as to think the AZCDL is a club of people who appreciate having their rights trampled in the name of security.

I'm wearing my AZCDL shirt at this very moment, how funny.

Sounds like some are in need of a history lesson and a reminder of our founders views.

One does not have to take things personally in order to deal with disrespectful people, nor does a person have to allow and accept the behavior by ignoring it. In my experience, most people who are disrespectful are that way because their behavior is ignored by most and/or encouraged by like-minded folks.

Geez, leave you guys alone for a week and see what happens?

Don't mind the resident agitator... he seems to be a supporter of big government, and not such a fan of the 4th Amendment. Just go back and look at some of his posts on SB1070; he doesn't have any problem showing his papers, since he hasn't done anything wrong. His posts in this thread continue along that theme.

For the rest of us who do not support illegal government intrusions on our rights, this is an interesting topic, and I'm also watching the replies. (Although I think the courts will continue to come down on the side of the police in this one.)
