We will have to see how the committee process addresses the differences between the bills. Removing locations from the prohibited list is always a good thing.

The bold text is to be added.
The strikeout text is to be removed.

Everything is such a jumble, I can't really make heads or tails out of it. It looks like it does remove the prohibition for colleges an universities, but it also looks to remove some of the not prohibited but not authorized areas as well. I'm really not sure.

OK, I've essentially gotten this unmystified. It looks like it consolidates some of the 13 not authorized but not prohibited locations under 571.107 into just 571.030. It puts 571.107.1 under 571.030.1.(1). It then exempts CCW permit holders in 571.030.4

It does look to remove some of the not authorized places altogether, like hospitals, arenas, and gated amusement parks. It also removes the prohibition from carrying on a transit bus or in a bus terminal.

It also looks to apply the "3 strikes" rule to someone carrying concealed without a CCW permit.

I could be wrong about all of this too. The shifting of the text makes reading it atrocious.

Overall, this "looks" like a really good deal. I could be completely wrong though. These changes are a jumbled up mess.

I'll await the final bill language that goes to the governor's desk, but it seems to me that churches and polling places have been stricken from 571.030.1.

Ok, so I have edited the bill as linked here to remove all the detritus of changes, leaving only what would be left if this passed as is. I left the bolding but removed line numbers, cross outs and such. I still need to proof one section to make sure I didn't delete too much of anything which I expect to get done tomorrow. The editing cuts it from 17 some pages to 7 1/2 pages. Still a bit much to post in the thread. If anyone wants a copy or wants to host a doc or pdf of it hit me up in PM. I'd say the version isn't perfect but it is certainly an improvement. Guess we need to see how badly the senate guts it or chains it.
