I know there are not that many people in the MN portion of this, but i would like to say hi being that i am new here.
I would also like to let everyone know of a grassroots group that I am currently a member of called Students for Concealed Carry on Campus (SCCC). In Minnesota, a visitorCANNOT be prohibited from carrying on campus. That is state law, and is wonderful. However, public postsecondary institutes MAY invoce academic sanctions if we are found to be carrying on campus. Basically, they can create rules for their students and facilty/staff saying that we cannot carry here, or we can get expelled/fired for doing so. The groups aim is to get every state that currently has laws making colleges offlimits, to remove them, and then to create laws that prohibit colleges from not allowing students from carrying.
We need all the support we can get in this effort. I'm sure that some of you may have heard of us, and we are not soley a group of students, this also includes concerned citizens, parents, facilty, and staff. If all of you can help us out that would be very apreciated!
http://www.concealedcampus.com is our website. Please stop by sometime and check us out. Any support we can get will be greatly apreciated!
