You heard the story about how to catch wild pigs. Give them enough free food and they won't pay any attention to the fence you're putting up. Until it's too late.

Likewise, if the feds keep offering all these neat toys and resources and the grants to fund the city projects, what will the city allow them to do? What if the feds give the cities what they want? All of it. With one stipulation. Would it matter what that stipulation is? What, maybe 10% of the city population "leaves"? For my home that's only 15-18 people. In the neighboring town that'd be about 130. In the county seat that comes to 850. Good way to keep the city paychecks coming in. Who would care if 30% of the population disappeared? And out in the rural areas, accidents happen. Accidental gas explosion. Family wiped out by carbon monoxide poisoning.

Seriously. And when the town leaders are told of this offer, they'll get scared. Cooperate or else. Or else it happens anyway and they are merely an accidental casualty. Fear will make people do the craziest and stupidest **** sometimes.

So how far will these grants go? Money's gotta come from somewhere.

Caldwell police Lt. Alan Seevers: “We don’t have the shootings, we don’t have the crime that we used to have. In 2006, we recorded 78 shots fired, and in 2013 we had two.”

What a knucklehead! Lt Seevers needs to ride around on a bike in the community or better yet, walk his beat!

There is no excuse for militarization of police. Coeur D Alene PD, Kootenai County Sheriff, and Spokane County Sheriff all have MRAP's now!

What's next? Armored Humvee's with Ma Duece turrets as patrol cars? Armed to the teeth Apache's?

Where do we draw the line?

We really nee to stop asking the recipients of "free" Federal toys how they feel about getting free toys. It simply doesn't contribute to the discussion.

If, for some reason, you had a program set up which gave me all kinds of free guns, I'm sure I could give you chapter and verse about each possible use for all my new toys.

That doesn't mean I need you to buy me guns, nor does it mean I have good reasons for the giving of free guns to begin with.

Apathy is the enemy

We The People are the sovereign and direct our elected officials, not the other way around!

The sheeple are ordered around by their elected masters. Bahhhhhhhhhh Humbug........:banghead:

The Founding Fathers would be disgusted at the state of affairs in this country.

I have not been this disgusted with government since Jimmy Carter was president.

If one sees a problem with government (like militarization of police), then it is ones duty as Americans to do something about it!

Not make up excuses!

The parable of the boiled frog comes to mind.

GW sicked the militia on "bootleggers" back in the day cuz the feds were not getting their cut. And that was before there were full time revenuers. Ah, 1791, the year that the feds proved that tax collection will be conducted at the point of a rifle. And folks today think/believe that the feds do not use the threat of lethal force to get their cut.

And sadly in 2014 we still have the tyrannical IRS that will take everything you own and lock you up without due process.

Too many sheeple!
