This one has almost snuck passed me. HB 328 changes the law on keeping a gun in a car on school property and prohibits students from doing so. Last year a student was arrest when a shotgun was found in his car at school. He had been bird hunting and just threw it in the trunk of his car a forgot about it. Perfectly legal, but he was arrested. Later, all charges dropped. I understand the intent of this but why is this needed? Are students less responsible at 18 than everybody else? It has already passed the House by a big margin. I don't get it, the bill's got just one sponsor.

I don't get it. A person that is 18 years old and has graduated from high school or dropped out of school can keep a gun in their car on school property, but a person the same age that has remained in school cannot. Huh?

If you had twin brothers and one of them dropped out of school early or graduated early he could keep a gun in his car when he came to school to pick up his brother, but the brother, who was exactly the same age, and was still a student could not keep a gun in a car that he was driving. WTF?

I can't believe this has been signed into law. It is such an absurd and useless amendment to a statute. When I was in high school we all had shotguns in our cars. Most of us kept them in gun racks in the rear of our trucks and no one ever said a word. If you're 18 you're 18 and this law only disarms those that would use their guns for good. A major fail by the Kentucky legislature and Governor Bevin.

Been busy helping a friend whose wife was killed . This slipped by me.

So this has ran the entire gamet and signed by Bevin?
