Someone around here carries in a purse. DreQo, I think. He calls it a super tactical purse.

He almost broke somebody's risk for touching his purs....,uh, I mean his STP.

OC makes some things so much easier...

Thanks for the holster recommendations, and hopefully some people will find this info helpful, however, as I stated before:

This thread was posted as a 'tongue in cheek' play against the anti's drivel about how people will be scared to see people walking around with guns on their hips!

I have a number of anti's that are friends on my FB and they should be 'up in arms' about that picture, yet, noone has said a thing! I am a respected professional Texas Citizen, and I just don't see anyone being 'scared' of me carrying a gun! (except the BGs of course)

When talking to people (antis and fence sitters) I have often heard them say: "I wouldn't have a problem with YOU (me) carrying, but..."
So who is to decide? I have a friend who is 'not so popular' (he gets a bit loud and hasn't figured out how to be 'tactful') yet he has a CHL. I often point this out and ask wouldn't they rather know if he is carrying or not?

In short, I posted this thread to promote OC, not to ask how to CC...

As I understand it, you can carry an antique 1800s type handgun openly in Texas, right?

If I lived in Texas, I'd probably carry a repro Colt Walker.

I could be wrong, but I don't think this can be done.

I think what you are reffering to requires that the firearm actually has to have been manufactured prior to a specific late 1800's date (a real antique). A modern reproduction wouldn't cut it.

You're not exactly strong-side forward in that pic, and there's something dark over your right shoulder on the wall. I didn't even notice the pistol, just thought it was a part of the background in between your arm and side. Your facebook friends that aren't looking for a firearm might think the same.

Isn't that kinda the point? The way that I (and most of my friends) carry, is barely noticeable even with a full size gun! When worn properly, your gun blends to your outfit, and is not 'on display'. It is simply another part of what you are wearing, right along with your wallet, keyes, cell phone, knife/multitool, etc. If I were to put the gun further forward on my belt, it would block my pocket making it extremely difficult to reach my keys/change/etc.

Huck: Yup, I just sling it over the shoulder like a purse, but it contains my backup piece, xtra reload ammo for the carry piece, the digital T7

Gator5713: A nice leather vest might get you by until OC is approved next door ;-)

cheers ~~ okboomer

I have no experience with this holster but it sounds like it can be worn with you're shirt tucked in. That aspect would to me be worth trying the thing out.
