Bad experience with a gunsmith

This isn't really about open-carry, but I figured some here may want to know this.

I recently took my wifes pistol to Gander Sports at the Millcreek Mall plaza in Erie to have a bullet removed from the barrel (my fault-bad reload), when I went to pick the pistol up, the gunsmith said that he had removed the bullet, but the slide wasn't working correctly and he wanted to send it to the manufacturer to have it repaired. As we were leaving Erie the next day to return home, I told him that I would have my local dealer return it for me and got my wife's pistol back. When we got home I took it to my dealer, and when we got to looking at it the gunsmith had done some major damage to the interior f the pistol. The pistol has been shipped off for repairs, and I thought i would warn others about the bad experience with this gunsmith.

What was the problem with the bad reload? What did you do to cause the problem?

Squib - remove with wooden rod and mallet, not a hatchet!

You should make them pay for any repairs.

logged in to simply say, gunsmiths are few a far between, good gunsmiths are even more rare. Fact is, one never gets a gun back in the same condition after a gunsmith handles it. Be it for the good or bad.

The pistol has been sent in to the mfgr for repairs/replacement. We will see how good their "no questions asked lifetime repair/replace" guarantee is.
