This is not associated with Louisiana Open Carry Advocates. We have a showing we are working on for West Monroe, LA. That link is here: http://www.tugg.com/events/4627

This new post is for Lafayette. I got this email from Louisiana Shooting Association this morning.

"Gordon Hutchinson, the shooting columnist for Louisiana Sportsman, a gun rights advocate, a concealed carry instructor and the author of the book, The Great New Orleans Gun Grab was contacted by a producer of a film entitled, Assaulted. The film highlights attacks on Second Amendment Rights. Gordon was interviewed, as were citizens from New Orleans whose stories were highlighted in Gordon's book.

The film's producers are allowing Assaulted to be shown in local movie theaters if enough tickets are sold by a certain date.

Cain Smith has arranged a showing in Lafayette on July 16, 2013 at The Grand 16 at 7:00 - 8:49 PM (3141 Johnston St., Lafayette, LA 70503, (337) 210-1631). Gordon has agreed to attend and to sign books. The cost to view Assaulted is only $10!

This film is a "must see" for every gun owner. For this showing to go forward, 90 tickets must be sold prior to the showing. The link to read the description of Assaulted and to reserve your tickets for this showing is: https://www.tugg.com/go/pz0sof.

Also, check out Gordon's website http://www.gordonhutchinson.com."

I find it a bit ironic that this show would be shown at the Grand Theatre seeing how they expressly forbid firearms at their location. I was booted from the Grand Saturday for open carry, and the website for the Grand Theatres lists in it's rules section that they forbid firearms of any kind at all their locations.

As much as I might want to see this film, I refuse to do business with any establishment that does not allow the lawful exercise of my rights as established by the constitution and in accordance with the laws of my state/parish.

If the Grand refused to allow me to carry, but provided reasonable and competent security, then I might reconsider. I don't think that the Grand has hired this type of security. I could be mistaken, seeing how I was not allowed inside. If wrong, please correct me.

Just my .02. Have a great day.

Edit: A geriatric man with a baton and pepper spray does not, IMHO, constitute reasonable and competent security.
