Well the school shooting in Sandy Hook, Connecticut, in which at least 26 people were killed, appears to have been committed by a 20 year old with some mental problems. His mother, whom he killed at home first, had bought & registered three weapons which he put in her car and then drove to the school she worked at:

Sig Sauer 9mm semi-auto pistol
Glock 9mm semi-auto pistol
Bushmaster .223caliber AR-15 style rifle with 30 round clip (left in car)

Another tragic event today, that probably wouldn't have gotten much notice in our media, even withou this CT shooting taking place, happened in China where they have oppressive gun control, and a very significant problem recently with mass attacks at schools. Today 23 were injured by a man with a knife, at a school.

Weaons used in these attacks include an axe, boxcutter, meat cleaver as well as knifes.

Connecticut gun laws

No way Adam Lanza could have done the shooting Connecticut guns laws were rated as the sxth toughest in the country by the Brady bunch(sarcasm). Some of these transgretions point to Lanza's mother but he is guilty by association. Never the less they were guilty acts that allowed him to posess the firearms. Any one of the statutes I quoted prohibited him from using the weapons he had in his posession. So much for gun laws. Gun laws only apply to the law abiding. What an Oxymoron.
