I have never actually open-carried into an Academy, due to all the ones near me being too close to OC-unfriendly New Orleans for my comfort. However, I do remember that the last time I bought pistol ammunition at one in East Jefferson, I had to wait for them to grab an employee to "walk" me and my purchases up to the front. The whole time I had a loaded, CC'ed pistol tucked under my shirt. Idiots.

Lafayette has not yielded any uncomfortable encounters, yet. I try to avoid Academy for anything except targets, ear plugs, and other cheap things of convenience... I just don't like their firearms department, nor their employees. I'd rather not support them. /shrug.
