The Monroe evening news contains an ad titled "Firearms & Politics", where they are asking for people to come out and meet the pro-gun politicians running for elections this november.

Sounds great, right? Well guess where this is being held...the Monroe Community College, a "gun free zone"! In fact, the bottom of the ad is in bold print and underlined with the text-

Vote for PRO-GUN Politicians (No firearms on school property please)

It says this is being sponsored by S-W Firearms training, but I am not having any luck finding out who that is and how to contact them. If anyone knows who S-W training is please let me know so I can contact them and find out why this criminal empowerment zone was chosen as the location.

If I am not able to talk to someone about the venue selection I plan to attend and ask the "pro-gun" politicians why they agreed to meet in a CEZ. The meeting is October 15th, from 6:30pm-9:00pm, if anyone would like to meet up and attend please let me know.

Understandable.

While you're at it, ask them to push registration repeal right up the governors, desk.

oh, believe me, HB5225 (and it's companion bills) and SB59 will be the focus of my questions. if they say they support SB59 they are going to have a tough time explaining why they are holding this in a CEZ

Haha I would love to hear them choke on their excuses for this one.

This is nothing new. Doesn't the NRA conveniently hold their conventions each year at facilities where carry is prohibited (state law and/or policy) inside the building?

this is something that drives me crazy. i have not been to a TEA party in my area for a long time because of this.

but one thing i have found effective is to stand outside the property and hold up huge signs calling them bigots, or something similar

if i had more time to organize that may have been an option, but i have a feeling i would look pretty silly standing there by myself monday night holding a sign on rasinville road.
