"General Patton wrote of mounted swordsmanship that the best parry is a disabled opponent, and the same principle applies to political conflicts. The pro-Second Amendment side makes the mistake of "defending its Second Amendment rights," aka "preaching to the choir." Those who support the Second Amendment do not need persuasion while the Propaganda Man, the undecided or even hostile voter whom we seek to at least alienate from the enemy, does not own firearms and does not care about "our gun rights." Our goal instead should be to prove to the Propaganda Man that the enemy leaders are dishonest, manipulative, and self-serving. This offensive rather than defensive approach destroyed the anti-Second Amendment Million Mom March more than 19 years ago and will discredit its counterparts today."
This is a great first paragraph. I particularly like the bolded part as it is something I have been advocating for years. With the ultra-left attacking us and our way of life in so many different ways, we need to expose their treachery and deceipt every chance we get.

...great, another "thought piece" on how we should convince liberals to not be liberals...our virtual ink well runneth over...

Nooo, I don't think it is a matter of convincing liberals to not be liberals but to remind them of their much vaunted claims of "tolerance" for people they disagree with, while treating those people exactly the opposite. Why should we be the "sacrificial lambs" for their hypocrisy and not defend ourselves and our values against these despicible, heinous, and unwarranted attacks? We need to show these attackers up for the lying, deceitful hypocrites they are and take them to task for that.

I'm only tolerant of those things that I wish to be tolerant of. And, I'm not tolerant of those things I wish not to be tolerant of. Short of excommunicating me from society, convince me I should be tolerant of your belief that I wish to not be tolerant of. Start.........

The author of the "think piece" misses the most crucial demographic in this country...which I thought would be self evident...the FUDD...my family is infested with them. If my "hunting only kinfolk" don't care about OC or CC...only with putting meat in the freezer, we will never have a voting block to counter liberals.

Do not engage liberals...waste of time and money, engage those who support the 2A most of the time...in principle. Work to have them become as devoted to the restoration of our individual liberties as we here are.

Perhaps you should show them some examples of the intentions of the likes od PETA, HSUS, etc., that not only want to end all hunting (and get rid of all guns) but also put an end to animal husbandry. No more fried chicken, no more pork sausage, no hams, no beef roasts, no STEAK. They want everybody to eat plants only. They want to turn us into COWS.

PETA?
This stance will not get a FUDD engaged in overturning anti-SD firearms legislation/laws.

HSUS?

In the future? Who knows.

Any efforts to inform (convince?) FUDDS regarding a link between PETA and HSUS to anti-SD firearms legislation will be a waste of time and resources. There is no evidence that PETA or HSUS are anti-2A where SD firearms are concerned.

11 Dec 19 BBC, quote
A police officer and at least five other people have died in a series of gun battles in Jersey City, in the US state of New Jersey.

Authorities identified the police officer who died...who was part of a state-wide programme to confiscate illegal weaponry.

Speaking to reporters, Jersey City Police Chief Mike Kelly said Mr Seals was a "leading police officer in removing guns from the street". "Due to an excess of caution the community may see additional police resources in the days/weeks ahead," Mr Fulop [Jersey City mayor] said, noting there has been no indication of further threats.

Officials have not elaborated on why they believe the location was targeted. They have also not commented further on whether the attack was driven by anti-Semitism.

But New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said while there was no known threat to the city, he had also placed police on high alert, especially in Jewish communities. Jersey City is part of the New York metropolitan area. unquote

There was another story on this shooting where they raided either a gun store or a pawn shop about 40 miles south of the shooting site. The owner had several AR-style weapons and several hundred rounds of HP ammo (banned in NJ ?) AND apparently was a CONVICTED FELON.

That would depend on the original charges and his conviction. Was he still on probation? What were the restrictions of that probation? We don't have enough information to decide if he would be allowed to own firearms again.
Of course, this charge renders that point moot.
