8 times point blank with a .25 and the guy still made it all the way to the parking lot! I wonder what the cop was shot with. He returned to duty!

The officer was shot 8x from a Glock in 40SW, the other robber had a 12ga.

The funniest part was this was a COP bar, owners and all the patron were LE or retired.

Yeah, I hear the G40 calling me as well... It gets louder each day..

8 times with a .40? That makes me want to bail on my .40 and go for the G40... I never carry it anymore anyway. I can't justify carrying a .40 if I have a 10mm. :uhoh:

My .40 has been my BUG since I came home with the G20 :) Although my fiancee does really like having it on the coffee table when I'm gone...and it was my first pistol...and Sigs are awesome...

I find that only one officer was armed as incomprehensible.

Seriously... LE have every excuse in the world to carry 24/7 just like any other citizen.

Actually, I think most were trying to be responsible as they were out DRINKING.

I doubt any of those 40SW rds were put where they would count. But, even if they had been, all calibers have failed numerous times since their inception.
Marksmanship is more important than caliber, but a larger (more powerful) caliber and or a well constructed bullet might give you a greater margin of error.

The addition of "appear" might be more accurate = trying to appear to be responsible. That worked out really well didn't it.

You have to keep in mind that cops are just like doctors, plumbers, butchers. How many of them take their tools of the trade with them when they go out to play?

Most people want to leave work at work, and this is a dilemma for cops who do not want to be a cop when they are off.

Hell I knew cops that drank alcohol at work but would still leave their gun in the car or at home when going to a bar.

The newest Sig P220 comes in the flat shooting and hard hitting 10mm caliber.

Sig should be releasing their 10mm P220 soon...but I might pass and hold out for a P227 version. Either way, I couldn't be more excited that there are/will be new options for 10mm in the very near future! I love this cartridge!

So... I bought a few extra magazines for my G20 last week, and upon unloading a reloading/remanaging my stash of 10mm mags I found that 5 of my 7 mags will hold 16 cartridges as opposed to the advertised 15. I can't seem to cram one more round into the other 2 for some reason, while the 5 that will hold 16 seem to do so with only a little bit of extra effort, nothing ridiculous done to get the extra round to fit.

Anyone else able to fit an additional round into their G20 mags? I thought this was kinda weird. They seem to cycle fine too. Do I have a 16+1 G20 now? Haha.

Here's a pic. The mag on the right has 16 rounds in it, the mag on the left has 15. You'll notice that the primers are showing on the odd numbered side on the right mag with the additional round, and they show on the even numbered side on the mag with 15 rounds.

Suspect that the followers may be different or reversed. Note the opposite positions in the round count window. You might remove the base plate and check this - presume they are removeable.

Yeah there doesn't seem to be any noticeable difference between the ones that will hold 16 and the ones that will hold 15. It's odd, but also kinda cool that I have 16+1 and a spare 16 rounder on me at all times now. 2 extra rounds YAY! If I could only get the other 2 mags to fit 16...I guess those will be my dedicated range mags.

I don't really feel like taking them apart, haha.

Well,,,

I think the 16 mag is thinner material than the 15 mag.
Half a extra round is above the top holes in the 16 mag.
Now look at the bottom holes.
Look at the left mag,,# 15 hole, see the bottom of 1 brass...
look at the right mag,,# 14 hole, see the bottom of a brass,,
and the top of a brass below it,,, = #16....

BTW,,, I have some odd guns With mags,
I have modified 3 different types of mags to take 1 extra round!

If the factory says they are 15 rounder's don't put 16 into that could very well cause them to jam.

Yeah, after fiddling around with them a little more, I really don't think the recoil would have enough in it to push the slide all the way back with 16 rounds in the mag. Best to err on the side of reliability and stick with 15. If I can't eliminate a threat with 16 rounds of 10mm I don't really see one additional round being very beneficial if the gun won't cycle properly.

Read the above discussion and want to say about it.10mm loadings are barely greater then the .40 caliber so unless you hand load 10mm to the original specification you're basically shooting . gun safe door organizer you can also use.

There may not be a HUGE difference, but to some people that difference is worth it.....especially if they are not recoil sensitive. As you say, those who load their own have more options.

I've had some interest in the .327 Federal Magnum, but the load and guns available never really took hold. Think that is a shame - very low felt recoil and excellent ballistics. Yes, I've shot one.

The .357 magnum is still the standard by which all others are judged.

The best thing about the USA for now any way, is the huge selection of firearms and ammo one can own just for walking into a place with money. In most places any way.
