I forget how to embed on this forum.

I have absolutely no faith in gel tests. I was a meat cutter when I was 18, actually I started years before that but only legally after 18. Aged corn fed beef that has had no or little exercise is considerably more stout than gel. I can shove my fist in ballistic gelatin and get the same penetration as the length of my arm. And cattle bred and fed for consumption is a hell of a lot more tender than the flesh on a healthy human. No offense but gel testing is a joke, like selling bridges. It is not even a decent test to use livestock for testing as it is not the same as a wild animal.

You show me a video of a person of average strength burying there hand, or even a finger in human flesh and it might give a hair of credibility to gel tests.

I see gel tests as simply a frame of reference for comparison between different bullets. I don't really think one could guess actual penetration through a live animal based on gel tests. They are also good for understanding simple terminal ballistics.

So I saw a super awesome G20 for sale online that has 2 features I was not aware were available. First, the frame was "Coyote Brown." Sweet! Never seen this color before, only OD Green and FDE.

The main difference aside from frame color was the magazines. The seller claimed they were "LEO" mags. Normal G20 mags are 15 rounds. These were 17 rounds. I've Googled for a few minutes and cannot find them anywhere. Anyone know anything about these mythical extendos? I gotta have em!

I agree with you on ballistic gel.

I like the way it was done in the 19th century. Using 1 inch thick pine boards stacked one in front of the other with about one inch of space between the boards, and seeing how many boards the bullet passes through. That gives me some perspective of penetration and power.

But, but.........ballistic gel is more environmentally friendly, greener. No tree or tree parts are damaged in the process.

Awww but Gel is made from bone, of slaughtered livestock, which emit CO2 and methane gas.
Recycled, otherwise waste products, being offered for your pleasure. J - E - L - L - O.......yummy when you think of whence it came.

Don't think so.

Tallow is fat, not the substance from bones, hooves and the like.

I worked in a slaughter house, we sold the bones for mostly Gel, the skin for tanners, the fat for make up. The elevator/mill down the road sold the corn cob for animal/pet bedding, polishing media, and make up. Fat and very fine cob grit are the base ingredient in women's makeup.

One more reason I am glad to be a guy. I will skip telling the wife that little bit of trivia about makeup.
