If you're a member there, would you please PM that OP with this lawyer's contact info?
He's a good civil rights attorney who's VERY gun-friendly & experienced with 2A, 4A, etc. cases.
He's based in GA but does cases across the country.

ETA: BTW, I can completely understand that happening. Well, I can believe it. "Understand" is maybe too strong of a word.
I'm charged with ccw for OC in a car, which is completely legal, & the max. penalty is 9mo jail & $10K fine.

If anyone else plans to OC a rifle in Iowa, please make sure you have a camera crew, to make suing the crap out of them easier. Handguns haven't gotten any negative attention from the police as far as I have heard, but many of them still don't understand that ALL firearms are covered by our permit to carry.

Live streaming to a remote server is always a plus as well.

Link is dead. Wondering if the other site removed it.

Can someone provide details, or another link?

Lets not forget that the permit not only covers firearms, but other weapons as well.

And to add, if anyone wants company while doing the above mentioned, give me a shout. Ill be your camera crew.

Ok. So i found the details for this. Its a case from last year right?

From what I understand from this is he was on probation, but got his permit before being on probation. I believe his permit was invalid due to the probation, but I cant be sure. If anyone else knows anything different let me know.

You would be incorrect in that assumption. He has poor judgement and a less-than-ideal history (assault, moving violations, theft, trespass), but no felonies, and his permit was valid as specifically stated in his probation terms.

What's this?
The short version is that I was OC in the car, as has been legal since 01NOV11.
The Milwaukee PD & DA disagree, don't believe that the new law says what it says, so they're charging me with ccw.
(I wasn't. It was just as OC as if I'd been walking around the grocery store. That's how she saw it.)

They think that simply because a firearm is in a car it's automatically concealed.
There's old case law that says that, but it's overridden by our Constitutional amendment protecting RKBA and part of the cc law from last year that changed the transport statute.

I was arrested 11NOV11 & the trial is late next month (JUL12). So much for a speedy trial. As for 'impartial', it's impossible around here. The DA has publicly admitted to ignoring or trying to override laws he doesn't like.

Gotcha.
Seems like some of those boys at AR are just as 2A pro as another site I know.

By "another site" you mean opencarry.org, since talking about long-gun carry (like we are doing now) is not allowed there, right? (sarcasm)

But yes, other organizations have a wide range of opinions, since every person is different.

THE RULES said:
(14) LONG GUN CARRY IS OFF-TOPIC: This web site is focused on the right to openly carry properly holstered handguns in daily American life. We do NOT promote the carry of long guns. Long guns are great! OCDO co-founders John & Mike and most of the members of this forum own at least one long gun - but due to urban area issues of muzzle control, lack of trigger guard coverage, and the fact that the long gun carry issue distracts from our main mission to promote the open carry of handguns in daily life, we will leave long gun carry activism in the capable hands of the future founders of web sites about long gun carry. Exception: This rule does NOT apply to discussions about long gun carry in jurisdictions such as California which ban handgun carry and thus require long gun carry as a matter of public policy.

Oh, as long as I'm posting from THE RULES, here's another :)
THE RULES said:
(12) NO BASHING OF OTHER GUN RIGHTS ORGANIZATIONS: Regardless of how convinced you are that another gun rights organization is not doing their job, this is not the place to air those concerns unless they are specifically related to an anti-open carry position taken by that organization. All other rants against other gun rights groups will be deleted or the thread locked.

HAHA! I was talking in general of most "2A" sites. But I believe we are talking about one in particular. Not just OCDO. They have a similar stance to the one I was talking about. But, according to the rules, Im covered.

And I agree totally with you. Most everyone has a different stance of how we should exercise. The way that one ended just hurt a little more so I am prone to reopen old scars. :)

Anywho....

Consider this a bump for the lady!!!
