I'm not a ham, but I have a lot of friends who are. My friends happen to also be liberty lovers, but they all agree that as a whole, the ham community will snitch you out faster than a crack whore looking for her next fix.

Organized ham groups consist of the Fudd range officers who will yell at you for firing faster than one shot every three seconds as "rapid fire", or for drawing from the holster.

They tend to take pride in alliance with government, as if obedience is synonymous with "the right thing to do".

actually more concerned by their comment 'due to local ordinances' shifting through how to contact city's mayor/attorney & county commissioner in charge/attorney as well the club's president...

I don't know about JARS, but that's been ARRL's policy for a while. They pissed off a lot of people who would otherwise go to field day.

Since when does ARRL have any say on any club/public property what people carry? Glad I'm not a member of them anymore.

Ok I need to be informed of wat a JAR is and what a HAM is.

Have not heard those terms used around here
Johnson Amature Radio - JAR. HAM = ham-fisted Morse Code radio operator. The code requirement for licensing was done away long ago. ARRL = Amateur Radio Relay League sets performance standards for amateur operators.

Once upon a time licensed amateur radio operators were technological elites. Not so much now.

I'd have no issue respecting any radio club's policies--after all, I always have the option of simply not attending. Yet, I'll always question the false perception that I'm somehow made a better person by concealing my firearm.

I'm not a member; I'm not a ham.

But I do recall seeing people post (not here) copies of ARRL statements that guns, at least openly visible guns, were not allowed at Field Days.

What can they do about it? I don't know... revoke local club affiliation, I guess.

Private entities, proprietors, property owners will always have the power to deny license trespass for what ever reason. See various contemporary ‘mandates’ and particularly regarding no-guns signage.
Doug, you know that is not true. Proprietors cannot violate persons civil rights and customers cannot violate proprietors' civil rights. Bearing arms is a civil right. Laws must be applied in a manner that is neutral toward all persons’ civil rights. When states give “no gun” signs force of law when it comes to businesses, the state violated someone’s civil rights and they cannot do that. And no I don't have to provide evidence to support my statement because I have done that many many times on the forum.
