"On Friday, lawyers for the NRA requested an injunction in federal court to stop Florida officials from enforcing the new policy that makes it illegal for those under 21 to purchase firearms, arguing in a complaint that the law is unconstitutional and imposes “a significant, unequal, and impermissible burden on the right to keep and bear arms of a class of millions of law-abiding 18-to-20-year-old adult citizens.”

"The NRA argues that the restriction would put a particular burden on NRA members who are women under 21 because they are less likely to engage in violent crime than older men who can legally purchase firearms. The complaint argues that women “pose a relatively slight risk of perpetrating a school shooting such as the one that occurred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, or, for that matter, a violent crime of any kind.”

I really wish they fought harder before these laws were passed. The NRA's strategy of lose rights and then beg for money to fight back is in full effect.

Exactly!
This is why I am not a member of NRA. They screwed it up a while ago when I-594 passed in WA.

So pray tell, how on earth did the NRA screw up the Washington’s self-initiated fiasco?

Now if you wish to put accountability squarely on the shoulders of the Washingtonians who initiated the initiative, or the citizens who signed the initiative to put it on the State’s ballot, or Heaven forbid, the Evergreen citizens who voted for the initiative making it law, then I would say you are absolutely correct!

So please tell everyone a bedtime story about how the big bad NRA ILA is to blame?

How so? Arming them is not mandatory.

what authority does the government have over a fundamental right to say you can't carry in a school as a law abiding citizen, but if you have a job as a teacher, all of a sudden you can?

1. Washingtonians did not initiate that crap. Soros, Blumberg & Co did.
2. At the same time there was pro-2nd I-591 on the same ballot. Most voters were confused, because of close numbers.
3. NRA did/does absolutely nothing to counterstrike, although they have all nesessary tools and resources.

NRA is only good at selling membership, hats, t-shirts, duffle bags and the illusion of belonging to a group.

Alas, according to the WA SoS records, a Ms Cheryl Stumpo initiated 594 in June 2013. [ms stumbo, a seattle resident was critically inuried in 2006 when a man shot her and co-workers, killing one]
https://www.sos.wa.gov/elections/initiatives/initiatives.aspx?y=2013&t=l

2. Let’s see, from the same cite, 591, mr bradley Phillips’ initiative (prohibit government agencies from confiscating guns or other firearm without due process) was on the same state ballot where only state residents, oh wait Washingtonians, can vote on.

3. And the NRA’s ILA section should have done what to curb Washingtonian citizens self initiated gun curtailment activities?

BTW, you should be proud, Washingtonians passed the confiscating initiative and the nice LEs are confiscating firearms already, as discussed out on this site earlier this year!

So, the truth will set you free...Washington [as does OR] has had in place the initiative process since the early 1900s, Washington’s citizens complain loudly about measures put into their statutes, YET have failed, repeatedly, to change the overall initiative process. Oh, and the state’s legislature has no culpability since the state’s citizens do it to themselves, time after time!

So as I stated previously, Washington’s citizens should look in the mirror as they shoulder the complete blame for their woes!

1. Using “gun violence” victim(s) is the common tactic of Soros, Blumberg & Co.
2. Again, many WA residents mistakenly voted for I-594 instead of I-591, because of those close numbers.
3. How about at least counter-propaganda on local TV and radio, not to mention organising pro-2nd rallies? Nope. Nothing was done by famous NRA.

I am sorry you have missed my point, the Statutory WA Initiative has been around since the early 1900s, WA Citizens, not corporations must initiate initiative(s) through the SoS; WA Citizens, who are residents, must be signatory on the initiative's petition; WA Citizens, registered as voters within their communities, must cast votes on the initiative; as such, WA Citizens, and only them, must bear full accountability for the initiatives the WA citizens have passed.

Sorry the "State/Local Government" didn't initiate 594 either or any of the other perceived anti initiatives, Washingtonian citizens did!

Whom would you like NRA's ILA to sue...the State's citizens who initiated, signed the petitions, and voted for the anti initiatives?

Strange, based on my recollection, there were all kinds of 594 rallies throughout the state, at the State capitol, Spokane and so forth.

NRA's ILA might/will intercede when there is something within the judicial system, e.g., courts, which might mitigate egregious State Legislation, but as stated numerous times, the State of WASHINGTON'S CITIZENS instigated this fiasco and the State's statutes says the Legislature is unable to mitigate the people's will for a minimum of xyz years (https://ballotpedia.org/Laws_governing_the_initiative_process_in_Washington)

Otherwise, NRA's ILA sole purpose, quote:
The Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) is the lobbying arm of the NRA. Established in 1975, ILA is committed to preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals to purchase, possess and use firearms for legitimate purposes as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

ILA’s ability to fight successfully for the rights of America’s law-abiding gun owners directly reflects the support of NRA’s 5 million members—a number that has more than tripled since 1978. When restrictive “gun control” legislation is proposed at the local, state or federal level, NRA members and supporters are alerted and respond with individual letters, faxes, e-mails and calls to their elected representatives to make their views known. unquote.
https://www.nraila.org/about/

As mentioned Washington's legislature has absolutely no control over Washington citizen's initiatives, until at least xyz years when the legislature can amend or rescind the initiative's statutory changes in WA law.

FYI, NRA was actually founded (1871) as a firearm training institution and as throughout it's organizational history still is considered the premiere firearm educational entity and accomplishes Law Enforcement and Civilian firearm training for this country's citizens.
