I love the idea of a gun that can't be used against me even if it is physically taken from me.
I also love the idea of a gun that can't be misused or accidentally used by a child or other untrained person.
For that matter, I love the idea of a gun that cannot be used to commit any crime or harm any innocent person while being 100% reliable for morally justified defense.
Of course, I'm also very much in favor of unicorns that puke up pots of gold and fart out rainbows. I'd happily settle for a goose that lays eggs of actual gold. It is just really hard to find such creatures.
When smart gun technology is widely used by local and federal peace officers and/or the military, I will take a keen interest in adding the technology to my own collection. Until then, I will stick with the same tried and proven stuff the pros continue to use.
I will also do my bit to oppose any laws that mandate the use of so called smart guns, that require any level of storage beyond that required for any other common household item, or that impose any higher level of liability than imposed on owners of other common and potentially dangerous items.
This political effort is essential lest we effectively lose our RKBA to overly costly storage or liability requirements.
