Yup, he sure did. BL is very close to PB so I will be attending and enjoying.

The Pre-Trial Conferences are most times just between the DA and the defendants attorney most likely held in the DAs office and not in open court.

You most likely well not be able to attend.

You can ask but do not be surprised if you are told no.

The jury trial if the case makes it that far and a possible civil suit trial would be excellent.

I would lay money on a deal cut to some misdemeanor.

Getting any type of felony conviction is death to gun ownership .

Any deal will still be a waste of time as to his ability to own firearms.
Even if charged as a misdemeanor it will still effect his rights.
A crime that could be charged as a felony but plead down to a misdemeanor is still treated as a felony according to Wisconsin gun laws. It's considered a violent felony and as such he loses ALL his gun rights.

I did not know that. To me a felon is liable to 365+ days state supervision, and misdemeanor means less than 365 days. Please cite the Wisconsin statute so that I may understand.
If Wisconsin is like Ohio a misdemeanor conviction for a crime of violence is basically like a felony, you lose your gun rights. Example: Aggravated menacing is a criminal charge one could receive if they knowingly cause another person to believe they will cause the person serious physical harm or harm the property of the other person. A belief crime. Belief crimes need to be abolished.

I have never heard of this and have worked in the criminal justice system since 1982. But just because I haven't heard of it doesn't mean it isn't so. I'm willing to have my ignorance fought. As previously requested please provide a cite for your claim.

Another hit and run from a knowitall.

Honestly, the only misdemeanor crime in Wisconsin that affects gun rights that I know of is domestic violence related.
I could find no state statutes that supported Todd C's claim and after posting here and attempting to contact him via messenger and email he has refused to defend or retract his statement.

I have an appt. in St Croix Falls at 1:00 pm today. I will try to stop by and see if court is still in session on my way back to the butte.
