Two Senate Seats are up for grabs on 10 January, with the balance of power (senate majority)hanging in the balance. Haven't heard a peep from VCDL about the special elections. Wonder if they just forgot??

Funny thing is the balance of power could be decided by, wait for it, Wait for it....

a Libertarian !!!!

Corey Fauconier (L) is running against Jennifer McClellan in an open race in the 9th Senate District of Virginia. Run Corey Run!!!! (No change for the Rs to win in this one as they didn't even manage to get a candidate on the ballot.)

In the 22nd Senate district we have a D, an R and an Independent running. If the Rs lose this one, they lose the state senate. Joe Hines is the "untainted" independent candidate. Run Joe Run!!!

This weekends snow and Ice storm, combined with weather that will not melt the snow and Ice in time for the elections make the races even more unpredictable. Who really wants it????

Read your mail - VCDL-PAC did their job

From Va-Alert dated today at 9:25am

VA-ALERT archives: http://www.listbox.com/member/archive/727/=now
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This coming Tuesday, January 10, 2017, there will be a Special Election in two Virginia Senate districts (9 & 22) and one House of Delegates district (85).

VCDL-PAC endorses MARK PEAKE and COREY FAUCONIER for Senate!

Senate District 22
------------------

MARK PEAKE is running to replace Tom Garrett in the Virginia Senate. He turned in a VERY PRO-GUN survey, advocates for Constitutional Carry on his website, and is a VCDL member! His Democrat opponent has ignored our survey, and is a former McAuliffe appointee. Furthermore, the loss of this seat to the Democrats would return the Senate to RABIDLY anti-gun leadership. THIS MUST NOT HAPPEN!

Tom Garrett leaves HUGE shoes to fill, but no one will do it better than MARK PEAKE!

Senate District 9
-----------------

COREY FAUCONIER is running to replace Donald McEachin. Corey's opponent has a wildly anti-gun record in the House of Delegates, and would continue McEachin's legacy of contempt for the Second Amendment and our rights.

House of Delegates District 85
------------------------------

Neither candidate returned the VCDL Candidate Survey and so there will be no endorsement in this race.

Not sure what District you're in? You can find out at: http://whosmy.virginiageneralassembly.gov/ (Put your address info in the upper right hand corner of the screen.)

---

If you live in the 9th or 22nd Senate districts, be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN to turn out THIS COMING TUESDAY, January 10th, and vote for COREY FAUCONIER (Senate District 9) or MARK PEAKE (Senate District 22).

Post the completed surveys ... let the people decide how "pro-RKBA" that they are ?

That is the case with Executive Members of VCDL.

When you become such, your input would be have some validity.

I'm not attempting to tell VCDL what to do or anything. If you've found that doing it this way works out better for your organization, that's fine. But just an FYI, the Tennessee Firearm Owners Association posts not only the score a candidate earned from the candidate survey but also posts the candidate's answers to each question (including whether or not they'll vote for a given proposal and whether they're willing to sponsor or cosponsor a bill for said proposal). I'd venture to say that some voters, myself included, prefer to have the additional information from being able to see the candidate's answers to each question.

Update from VCDL:

--------------------

In my rush to get the word out to the grassroots, I accidentally deleted a reference to Corey Fauconier's survey response. He responded EVERY BIT AS STRONGLY as Mark Peake did in the 22nd district. My apologies to Corey and his campaign!

9th Senate District
-------------------

Libertarian COREY FAUCONIER is running to replace anti-gun crusader Donald McEachin. He responded to the VCDL Candidate Survey VERY PRO-GUN! COREY FAUCONIER's opponent has a VERY anti-gun record in the House of Delegates. Only COREY FAUCONIER will end McEachin's legacy of naked contempt for the Second Amendment and individual liberties!

22nd Senate District
--------------------

Republican MARK PEAKE is running to replace Representative Tom Garrett in the State Senate. He turned in a VERY PRO-GUN survey, advocates for Constitutional Carry on his website, and is a VCDL member! His Democratic opponent has ignored our survey, and is a former McAuliffe appointee. Furthermore, the loss of this seat to Democrats would turn the Senate over to RABIDLY anti-gun leadership. THIS MUST NOT HAPPEN!

Representative Garrett leaves HUGE shoes to fill, but no one will fill them better than MARK PEAKE!

If you live in the 9th or 22nd Senate districts, BE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN to turn out NEXT TUESDAY, January 10th, to support COREY FAUCONIER and MARK PEAKE!

I'm inclined to agree with the approach from Tennessee, let the people see how these candidates respond so we can hold them responsible at the polls if, or when, they change their views. Unless someone has something to hide I cannot think of a reason to keep that information from us all. After all, there are other ways for us to spend our $25.

Hide, who's hiding anything? Oh, I see now....
