Fellow carry friends:

I'm looking for a video that I think was made by a California LEO.

The video starts with him saying "this is legal in California, and this isn't."

He then proceeds to remove the stock and accessories from the one that's illegal, making it legal, and accessorizing the one that was legal making it illegal.

His point was to show that the law isn't about making the firearm illegal, but rather the accessories.

I used to have a link to this video, but cannot locate it.

Thanks in advance...

ok, your query's lack of specificity, e.g., time reference, type of rifle, ad nauseam,
coupled with your 'i think' mentality, e.g., CHP, county mountie, or...
finally, mainstream produced, backyard production, biker info medium, or...

as i discovered that all these mentioned components makes rummaging through al gore's vast repositories a herculean task.

best of luck

ipse

added, sure it was done by doug?

I think this might be the one you're referring to.

"The difference between an Assault Rifle and Semi Automatic Rifle"

All one has to do is READ the law and then make your guns around the law.

No hard at all...just that most people are either stupid, lazy, afraid, more than happy to toss away their rights, or don't want to appear to be "mean".

Trying to be more specific

I will try and be more specific.

I'm not certain of the caliber/manufacturer/model of the firearms, but...

The video had two firearms (identical in caliber and manufacturer, both semi auto) sitting on a table. One has a wood stock, the other is accessorized to look like an AR-15. In the video, the guy points out that the wood stock firearm is legal in California, the accessorized one is not.

He then proceeds to remove the stock and accessories from both firearms, showing that once the accessories/stock are removed, what remains (barrel, action, trigger) are exactly the same.

He then proceeds to accessorize the one that had the wood stock with all the AR style accessories, and attaches the wood stock to the other. When finished, the one that was legal now isn't, and the one that wasn't legal now is.

Proving that the so-called "gun" ban isn't banning the gun at all, just the accessories attached to it.

That's what I remember of the video, sorry I don't have more information.

Again, thanks in advance...
