NRA-ILA Endorses Trump Without Grading Him

Has NRA-ILA worked counter to the efforts of grassroots gun rights organizations in many states?

Yup. They tried to cram castle doctrine down our throats in VA. Problem is we already have it better than the castle doctrine they wanted for Virginia. Why? Same reason they are backing Trump. They want more power. Getting Castle Doctrine in VA is something they can crow about. If it had been enacted most gun rights people would not know they had just been screwed and say gee the NRA is great! They ignore their own criteria and endorse The Donald because getting Donald Duck elected gets them power.

Quite the pity NRA-ILA cannot endorse the best candidate, or endorse all candidates that meet a certain threshold., because when it comes to gun rights not all Republicans are good guys and not all Democrats are bad guys, and for the record when it comes to gun rights most Libertarians are super good guys.

Tess, You are right about some narrow minded posts similar to what we saw when the Cooch went down in flames. Many who remain here are intolerant of viewpoints other than their own. I ignore them because I am lazy and do not want risk losing my time in a stupid flaming war. Good on you for confronting the ignorance.

A vote for a candidate who can't possibly win is tantamount to giving Shillary your vote,

If this is true, then why would you ever vote for Donald Duck ?

The time to exercise your protest vote is during the primaries,

The Commonwealth of Virginia recognizes the Libertarian Party, but does not allow Libertarians to have a Commonwealth subsidized primary like the Democrats and Republicans.

My vote is not a protest, :banghead:it is my affirmation of the person that I trust the most to do the most good.:monkey

Why would the NRA-ILA endorse Trump without grading him? The answer is simple. His grade would not merit endorsement. He would be at best an Aq which is not good enough for NRA Endorsement. That is the best grade he could get because he has no legislative experience.

Look in the Virginia House grades to see Aqs not get endorsed.

Why? What choice do they have? Rs butter their bread. Grading him is futile. He has zero political experience (meaning to say he has held no office... though he has had some experience using government to his purposes such as trying to steal an old lady's home to build a limousine parking lot through eminent domain). So there is nothing really to grade except for his statements which are as the seasons... ever changing.

From cute to noble in one post - that was good.

Has your affirmation of such a person ever done anything that has had a positive influence on an election? Understand that I support your decision to vote as your conscience directs. When there is collectively 5-10% of the total ballots for the same candidate, then the reasoning may have more than a feel good result.

BTW - the NRA dosn't back someone that is ordained to lose.........though they have backed some that weren't winners.

A distinction w/o a difference these days. The NRA has done very good for all liberty minded citizens...until you are the recipient of they not doing so good.

It is not bashing if it is true.

Your move Sir.

I was in DMV yesterday and at the end of the transaction I had to answer some questions on a screen. The first one was 'are you a citizen of the US, yes or no?' I answered 'no', then it asked me if I wanted to register to vote, again I answered no, then it asked me if I was sure. So it appears that Virginia's DMV is actively encouraging those not eligible to vote to register to vote

You know very well that DMV is a state agency under the direct authority of the Damnocratic, anti-freedom Governor McAuliffe....McAwfull. Why would you expect anything less? Besides which, you were not supposed to catch that small little problem. :p

Perhaps you should have answered "Yes" to the query asking you if you wanted to register to vote. It would be interesting to see where in the sequence the system would flag the inconsistency. The Donald is screaming about voter fraud and a rigged election. A system that allows a non-US citizen to register to vote would support his claim.
