The house has just overridden it. The Governor's veto has been overridden. I think it takes 30 days to take effect. Can someone please confirm the timing.

The bill contains this at the very end: "Section C. The repeal and reenactment of section 571.030 of this act shall become effective January 1, 2017." If I read it right, that's the section that allows constitutional carry.

Congratulations Missouri! The right to bear arms is almost completely restored in the state. Every state that gets rid of the privilege card requirement helps all the other states. This makes 9. 10 if you count Arkansas. Just a matter of time before NH and MT have it too.

But, you still can't open carry in certain towns.

I think its a win for people to be able to concealed carry without a permit! Plus the other gains in this bill! Being able to carry openly everywhere in the state at lest we can still work toward it. Better to gain some ground than loose any.

Thanks to all those who worked hard toward this! Im sure there are many on here that have worked behind the scenes!

I think the emergency clause means it takes effect immediately, but don't trust me. And yes, subdivisions can still prohibit OC without a CCW permit. I suspect that's next year's target.

OK. I'm wrong. Looks like the new RsMO 571.030 is effective January 1, 2017.

Yep, and that's the part of the bill dealing with constitutional carry. The rest (including stand your ground) should go into effect in 30 days. But nobody without a carry permit should begin carrying concealed until 12:00:01 AM on January 1, 2017.

Here's the NRA-ILA article confirming the date.

Never mind, answered my own question by reading a previous post. This is what happens when I get off work early crack of dawn morning.

Who all wants to have a open carry meet some where food wise just to celebrate? Pretty random at 0551 hours but I just got off work haha! Congrats Missouri for gaining back rights that we were given in the first place! I almost considered getting my CCW back due to just Missouri, but since it passed for no permit required I'm saving money! Haha sorry for the poor and horrible jokes...I'm really tired!
