With every election, voter apathy rises. As voter apathy rises, politicians, no matter the party, assume that people don't care what they do. Not voting tells politicians you don't care what they do, so they do what they want, not what you might want, and they laugh all the way to the bank with their profits.

One other thing. Not voting is just laziness and allows others to make decisions for you.

If our vote is futile, why do we work to have the currently elected crop of politicians pass, or repeal, law(s) that we desire to be passed, or repealed. Ironic, really, not voting and then complaining about the politician(s) in office not voting the way we want them to vote. Seems to me that our vote is not wasted, we may not always "win" but we must keep voting if we want to win.

Do you mind if I use your words for my signature line? That is some cold hard truth in as few words as possible.

Of course.

I for one will continue to vote. I suspect I will die having never voted for a winning candidate. Not much hope I think.

Or, Voting is just laziness and allows others to make decisions for you.

I have voted plenty in my life and have not been very pleased with MOST of the decisions "made for me".

Government is just laziness, using force instead of cooperation to subject others to a "collective" will.

How about a quote a little more recent.

"Political language... is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind." - George Orwell

Or one more.

"In our age there is no such thing as 'keeping out of politics.' All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred and schizophrenia." - George Orwell

Ok then run for president. Then when president dissolve the .gov with your skills make hundreds of millions of people to just cooperate with each other.

But you need people to vote for you....

You've got my vote! That's one....

Not only are you an apologist for FORCE, you are an active initiator of it.

I don't really agree with not voting....especially on a local level.

But jeff does bring up or at least skirt a good point. I truly believe the two party system is a deliberate manipulation that we have been buying into for longer than most of us have been alive. It divides the people into voting for one of two parties, when in the end either party will do nothing but strip our rights away. We see gun rights go away with democrats, and right to privacy go away with out latest republicans.

I know I'm speaking like a true libertarian, but I do see the frustration in participating in an electoral process that is the definition of an either/or logical fallicy.

This is much Truth. I heard of a group a while back, that was very upset with the current level of taxation. I agreed, as did my Sweet Baboo. We heard of a gathering of these People and we attended. It was enormous. Many , many people tired of the .gov and they rallied behind each other. The streets of Bellingham were awash with people who had had enough. Soon they were labeled as extremist, and a big bunch of loons. The TEA party, which was not even a party, was destroyed by ridicule. What the hell?

RESIST! If you cannot find someone to vote for, find someone to vote against.

Not voting is not the answer. They won because they got people to vote their way. Hearts and minds need to be told the truth. The monetary system we have in place is due to ignorance. Getting rid of the federal reserve and returning to real money, Constitutionally mandated currency, would be a great start. You want to rein in government? Cut off it's funding. Let's see how many new laws and programs they can implement then.

Funny you insist on voting, yet you seem to not realize the moneymasters(Federal Reserve) you wish to oust, control the politicians who are "elected" by the people.

Welcome to OCDO. Tell US what you think of guns and openly carried guns.

Thanks for the welcome, Nightmare.

I own three hand guns and always carry one. I cannot legally carry openly, but should
be entitled to that right without the need for the permission of any government.

I strongly believe in the Second Amendment. I believe that any citizen of
the USA should be free to bear arms without restriction, except that I believe
that felons and the mentally ill should not be able to own, be in possession of,
or carry any firearms.

I believe that those campaigning for gun rights by gathering groups to assemble
in restaurants and other public places while openly carrying rifles are idiots and do
nothing to advance the cause and only serve to add to the ranks of the gun haters.
