Dateline: Alabama
Scene: Dollar General

Criminal comes in waving a gun & saying he's going to kill everyone.
Moves a clerk & one customer to a back room (BAD IDEA!! NEVER GO ALONG!).
Customer seizes the moment, shoots thug once in the chest.
Thug dies.

Oh, and there's a "no open carry allowed" sign on the door.
I think maybe he mistook that for "everyone here is defenseless".

Interesting stuff all over the place with that one. Amusing that there was a "no open carry" sign on the door. I can't help but wonder if the customer had been open carrying would the BG have altered his plans? Perhaps he would have just come back at a later time if his motive was something other than robbery (which was suggested in the article).

This quote was interesting:
You have one individual waving a gun and you have another one who shoots the one waving the gun. Some people say that's justifiable. Then you're going to have some who says it's not. I think we need to get all of the information we can get from everybody and then go forward from there," the [Sheriff Huffman] said in an interview.

I'd like to know which idiot would "say it's not" justifiable?

Just about every liberal gun hating Democrat.

Oh yeah, those idiots. :)

I wonder if the Sheriff was implying he might be one of those idiots, or if he was simply acknowledging that such idiots exist?

In all the twenty years that I lived in Alabama, I never once saw a sign prohibiting OC. What in the hell are those guys doing down there now that is prompting such a sign??? Bad legislation and now unprecedented signs. Those guys need to get their act together!
