Finally got myself a proper holster. Custom leather to exactly fit the Px4 Storm Subcompact.

Promptly OCed to BW3s for dinner and stopped for gas at a Speedway and went inside for a Red Bull. I find that carrying makes people want to talk to me. While I'm pumping gas the guy next to me starts chatting me up about my car. (Though, truth be told, it's a pretty awesome car.) And then walking out with my 20 oz Red Bull a guy stopped me and asked how much it was, and that he didn't even know that they came that big.

Anyway, nothing at all said about my gun or my snazzy new holster.

Nice holster!

Today was a strange day, seemingly every where I went someone would ask about the pistol I was carrying or just OC in general.
At Discount Home improvement I was asked if I was hassled for open carry. Told him not at all.
At Nye's Uniform was asked if I was carrying a .45 Replied no, 9mm.
At Menards was asked about my shoulder holster and where I purchased it. Later in Menard's an employee mentioned having seen 5 other folks OCing that day. And still at Menard's I was asked if wearing the shoulder holster was OC told him it was. Strange having this much discourse on guns when out and about with my wife. Still all positive.

OC'ed over at Home Depot and Lowes near the Madison Heights/Royal Oak border with Michigander.

Had one guy tell us it was 'f***ing awesome' and that he had to start doing it, but he needed to find a holster for his .50 cal X-frame.
Had one guy who seemed to be a recent immigrant tell us he submitted his CPL application and ask some questions about OC/CC outside vs on his homestead. Nice guy, welcome to America!
Saw some yuppie old lady lock tunnel vision on Michigander's G20 and nearly puke on him in disgust when he walked by her. I guess what they say about tunnel vision when you perceive a 'threat' is true though, because she didn't seem to notice mine. [Note that the 'threat' was two idiots talking about cable specs for a 220v extension cord who just happened to have self-defense tools in a tool store that sells saws, drills, impact hammers, and all manner of as-dangerous objects].

I showed it to a co-worker and she said she thought it was girly. :( I think it's nice.

Hey - if it works for you - that's all that matters. I could never get used to the snap where it is instead of a "normal" thumb break. Again, if it works for you SCREW what anybody else thinks. :D

On topic OC'd for lunch no issues, no terrified patorns or workers, kids or little old ladies running for cover. No one gave two hoots, as it should be.

First Time Oc'ing the P226

Took the new P226 Extreme out for the night... Gander Mountain, Meijers, Shell Station and Target (All in Traverse City)
No Problems at all, although I had a family behind me in line a target completely avoiding eye contact.

Been a long couple of weeks. Nothing to really report. Been OCing during the daily routine and nothing out of the ordinary. Today was a little interesting though took the family and attended the Richmond Good Days parade and festival.

We arrived early to get good parking and seats for the parade. Went and had a most awesome breakfast at the local Mason hall. I am a member there so no comments or looks since everyone knows I carry. Had some time to kill before the parade so we walked down to the fairgrounds to check out the flea market. Had quite a few stares from the vendors and actually had two ask me if my firearm was real. I chuckled and responded "Yes".

We were walking by the Macomb Sherrifs mobile command center parked up on the grass. There happened to be a rather large group of officers and several "Reserve" deputies standing outside as we passed by. I heard one of the reserves say "Hey look, he's got a gun. I'm gonna go stop him". To which another officer responded "You can't, he's not doing anything wrong". To which he replied "He can't just walk around here with a gun like that". As we walked further away the officer started to explain the legallity of OC to the reserve saying "Yes he can......." Then I was out range of hearing the rest of the conversation.

It was a good feeling knowing that at least some law enforcement is aware of the legallity of OC and is trying to instill it upon others who don't. Passed by at least thirty or more officers during my day at the fair and parade and not a word was said to me :) Infact one even helped my mother across the street while I was getting her a soda from the store. As I exited he smiled glanced at my firearm said "Ah nice a Sig". "Have a good day and enjoy yourselves". All in all a good day.

OC'd all over the place on Sunday. First to mom's house, then to storage facility, then to Tropical Smoothie (good sandwiches there), then back home. After that went to Salvation Army, then to mow late mother-in-law's house, then to Williams's Gun Sight and finally over to new house to finish mowing. Good day to get stuff done and be out OCing.

A school huh, didn't your weapon jump out of its holster and start shooting up the place? Wait it isn't the gun it is the crazy person that uses it, I guess you are not a crazy person or you gun is broken...

You might want to take it to a gun smith to have checked out.

Yesterday I OC'd at:

Wendy's in Bridgeport where I left $5 for the next person in line.. and that happened to be a lady with a young child. In the meantime another gentleman in line asked if I was a police officer and when I said "No." he pointed to my sidearm and said he really liked that. And the lady with the child then said she has her carry permit... and while waiting for our orders we all had a nice conversation about the legality of open carry and no permit is needed... and all the other folks in line were listening intently...

Then later in the day a good friend and I went to KFC in Clio where the most exciting thing was... ummm... nothing untoward happened.

And today I had breakfast at Big Boy in Bridgeport.. where again... nothing untoward happened.

OCed at the Meijer 28th and Eastern in GR last night. No issues other then one person who saw me and then promptly turned around to go down an aisle. As I passed by the aisle I saw the guy talking to what looked to be a manager of some sort. I over heard the store employee explaining to the other customer that open carry was legal. Nothing more came of it.

While OC at the Speedway on Lake Michigan Drive in Grand Rapids a customer came over and talked about OC. I talked for a while and then went in to buy some pop ("soda" for non-Michiganders) and the guy followed me in. He kind of just stood at the door when I went through the line and, when I went back outside after making my purchase he said, "I can't believe no one even batted an eye at you carrying a gun in the store. I think that's great, etc...I'm going to try it". I STRONGLY suggested he go here for information regarding the law before doing so.

I've also been OCing at work. I've been assigned to a new room with a "new" colleague. She didn't show any response when she saw me locking up my pistol in my desk safe after I'd been OCing for an hour around the building on the first day. Also no response as I re-holstered at the end of the day for my drive home. Thankful that Michigan CPL holders can OC in PFZs...could be better but could also be a lot worse.
