As you may know Sheriff Crutchfield is retiring this year, so we will have a new sheriff. There is only 1 republican running, a 3 democrats. The republican really doesn't stand a chance from the information I've gathered, so I have been trying to talk to the democratic candidates about their support for OC and the 2A.

At the Monroe County Fair tonight I was able to talk to Dale Malone and Tom Redmond, the 2 frontrunners in the Democratic primary. Dale Malone said he supports CPL law and when I asked him about OC he said "ya that too". But then he followed that up with " i never really carry unless I'm going to Detroit and may need it." This kind of threw up a red flag for me, and he seemed like one of those people that doesn't understand that you can never predict when crime will happen. It really seemed he was more of CPL supporter than an overall 2A supporter.

Tom Redmond on the other hand was adamant about his support for ALL types of carry, and said he 1000% supports the RTKABA and everything that comes with it. In fact, he was heading out tonight after the fair to shoot a Thompson sub-machine gun! My impression of him was that he truly meant what he was saying.

Both candidates told me that the most asked question during this campaign was about their support for 2A, so I guess that's a good thing that so many care.

Obviously I would never try to tell someone how to vote, I just wanted to share what they said to me with all of you. I was having a hard time finding out their positions until tonight, I thought maybe some of you were too. Like I said, both are democrats, the repub is running alone so no primary for him.

ETA- one of the candidates mentioned that a GROUP of OC'ers was at the fair today, any of you?

Good information! I'm not a Monroe county voter, but thanks for getting it. All of us need to vote, and be informed about our vote. And when there's a lack of info, folks need to step up and get it. This is a good example of that.
