+1 MetalHead, plus Walmart's inventory is no different than many other stores, most the stuff we buy anywhere in the U.S. is made elsewhere. And they also have made items affordable to people who normally couldn't afford to buy those items. And when I go to the sporting section I see a lot of Remington stuff and they make their goods 100% in U.S.

And the folks working there, where else would they work? Some may get food stamps but they would get food stamps and taniff if they didn't have a job. And they would get the same no matter where they worked.

Gotta love Penn & Teller. I completely understand & expect Walmart hatred from the left -after all, they're a successful non-union business that turns a profit. Just don't get it from a gun-loving capitalist.

I have a neighbor who works at walmart, she has been working thier 1 year and is now up to $9hr. So I dont know where $10 to start is, but its definately not Puyallup. I dont support Walmart because I have seen a town called Colville(just outside of Spokane) utterly crushed by a walmart. You say its capitalism I say on the contrary. If you wanted to start a business and Walmart offered teh same services you wouldnt stand a chance. You literally could not buy your product cheaper then Walmart(because they squeeze their suppliers). So to me thats very anti capitalism. Services are the only business that Walmart currently doesnt compete with. Its not that uncommon for surrounding businesses to go bankrupt trying to compete with walmart. They are now the largest buying/selling machine in the world. They have no competitors and they prove to be very ruthless to their suppliers. You say thats capitalism... sounds to me more like dictatorship. But this is off topic... moving on...

If one day I read about an encounter with a "Manager" who instead of asking one to cover up, says that he had a complaint or two about your OC but told the complaining parties that it was perfectly legal. That the person Open Carrying was perfectly welcome to shop in the store, just like they are.

Wouldn't take long for the word to get out if they were to take that approach. Instead they choose to approach the "offender" and have them appease those who don't have a clue as to what is or isn't legal.

If I were approached in a situation like this I'd ask the Manager "did you advise those who complained that OC is perfectly legal in Washington"?
good response AMELVIN. i've had an experience, where this happened. basically, i over heard an associate tell a customer that saw me , that it was legal in VA and that wal-mart policy was if it is legal then it is fine with them
Roger, that. Vote with your dollar. This was more geared towards individuals who knowingly enter a place that has been known to be "anti"...But I wholly subscribe to your view: "You dont want my money? OK. Ill just go to your competitor."

i do agree with not giving money to anyone that is abusing my natural rights. but remember this we are in a small minority , of which there are many prejudices against. it is not enough to vote with your feet, but to also make our voices heard

Yup. And regardless of what the "corporate policy" is that manager is the captain of the ship and what he says goes. That is his real estate and he is head of the serfdom. Its not in your best interest or your powers to try and reprimand the manager or convince him to engage the corporate policy. That is between him and the corporate offices. Why do we go over this same ground people? Have we run out of things to talk about? Really?
I believe the approach should be one of a gentle nature. Arm yourself with the WRITTEN corporate policy, state law and smile instead of a brash attitude and a sense of entitlement. And in that manner we will have a doctrine to carry our movement much further than will conspicuous indignation.
so , by using this logic, even though corp. says to pay all employees the same regardless of sex then the manager should be able to pay women less with no punishment. corporate policies are not only for consistency, but to entice the customers in assuring them they will be treated fairly. Walmart has assured me that they will respect my legal option of carry, that is one of the reasons i will go there. if one of their
employees breaks the rules they should be punished

BTW, if you don't like the phrase " Honest men do not hide their weapons, only those that are up to no-good want to hide them." then how about ". how about "if you are ashamed of it, you will hide it". of course you can turn first statement around. i have used the statement. have you ever seen someone that was up to no good that didn't hide their gun?

Really? This town is so utterly crushed that it's supporting a Supercenter 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? How many stores closed? How many people did they employ, and what were their wages compared to Wal-Mart? How many people did without things they couldn't afford before, versus now?

If there's anything that can "utterly crush" a small town that depends on timber and mining, it's government regulations that put people out of work. Given Colville's roller coaster population levels over the last 40 years, I suspect Wal-Mart isn't the real demon.

What's up with the WallyWorld hate man? Parasite to the economy? I dunno man, I saw a whole lotta folks working there making a pay check, and I didn't even wander the whole store either. Is it cuz they sell cheap Chinese goods? Don't blame Wallys for simply selling what people want, blame the leftist environmentalists & unions for completely destroying the American manufacturing industry. They (walmart) also have a pretty good record of actively and passively supporting our RKBA...

Thing I really hate about wal-mart is being in line behind a perfectly abled bodied person while they pay for their groceries with an EBT Card.

And by what method do you determine they are perfectly able bodied? To look at my oldest son, 6'3" 195, 32 years. 5 healed fractures in his spine, spinabifida, for starters.

EBT benefits are not "awarded" on the basis of an inability to work. They are made available on the basis of income. With today's unemployment (just under 10% reported but more like 20% REAL) expect to see more of them. The program is there to provide basic nutrition. I have no problem with those who are looking for work but need EBT to feed themselves and family. My issue is with those who refuse to accept work in times like this because "that job is beneath me" or "isn't in my Union job classification".

Yes, there are those who could work but won't. And there are those who would do any kind of work they could find but can't find any. Just watching someone using an EBT card doesn't give you a clue as to which is which.

Sorry to hear about your son Trigger, but he would probably be better off on disability, not welfare.

I am talking about the families I see, that have a cart full of junk food, and the whole family is there, Mom and Dad who look to be in their late 20's, Gold cap grill work done on his front teeth, he is covered in tat's, she has manicured nails with fancy designs, 3 kids in tow. They seperate all their food and then a bunch of clothes that they paid cash for, and when you get out on the parking lot you see them packing everything around the big speaker in the back of their Cadillac Escalade with oversized chrome wheels and tires. I see this quite often, not always a cadi is the ride of choice.

I dont think is is for the lack of jobs, it is the lack of high paying jobs, that wont allow someone to live at the standard they think they should, or because the job may be to hard. When I was unemployed, we tried to get my daughter medical through DSHS, we didnt want food stamps, or money, just medical, and they said I made too much. There are blind people working, there are parapalegics that are working. I see help wanted signs everywhere. McDonalds is almost always hiring. It is more personal choice. Sorry but I believe those who do not have jobs, dont have them by choice.

Welfare is a failed system that is destroying our retirement. I wanted to retire at 65 not 67, who knows what the age will be when I get there. Welfare should be food lines providing rice, beans, milk, oranges, etc, just what is nescassary. Not Doritos, and Twinkies. Why not make it like unemployment you get out of it, just what you put in by working? It definitely should not be available to illegal immigrants, or the 80,000 + muslim immigrants Obummer is bringing into the US by executive order without background checks (heres another reason to carry). They will start on welfare and some will get jobs that are available that nobody thought was good enough. If we closed the borders until we get our country straightened back out, then deport all the Illegals, There would be plenty of jobs, all those on welfare could be given a job and if they didnt like the one given to them they could go and apply somewhere else of their choice.

This guy is not on welfare. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXVIcbQCrDU

And I dont mind if you consider me cold hearted. I dont think anyone should get something for nothing.

One more uninformed opinion. The post was not to say my son was on welfare or disability for that matter, which he is not. It was to indicate that one can and often does make judgements without knowing the true situation.
By looking at my son you would think he is able bodied, but he is if fact medically RETIRED from his job. Your appology is accepted.

Your rebutal was a direct reply to a post on welfare, which insinuated he was. I went off the info you provided. You were the providing source. I hope your son does not have to deal with too much pain. I went to school with a guy that had spina bifida, he was wheel chair bound and always in pain, I never could understand how he kept such a great attidude. I later learned that his faith kept him going.

Ok, so he's allowing the immigration of 80,000 from Islamic Countries. Where do any of these articles point out the second part of your contention they will be allowed into the Country "Without Background Checks".

Sounds to me that all he's doing is suspending the quotas for for the various countries involved.

I, for one, take exception to that sentence, and I'll thank you to change your 'tude, sir.
Looking at it the other way around, criminals don't carry openly.
Yes, there are some good people who cc... I will occasionally be among them.
But mostly I will OC, in part to show that I'm not a criminal & in part to continue to educate people that gun /= criminal.

I have several degrees. I've also paid for job training (which everyone else in my class had paid for by a gov't agency) for an entry-level scut job in healthcare, because it's always being advertised at local nursing homes & hospitals.
In nearly 2 years since then, I've worked a few days at a temp job & gotten one phone interview, plus one in-person interview for an unrelated job (also "beneath me"... but it would pay some bills.)
So no, I'm not turning down jobs & I am looking for jobs that are "beneath me", in education & experience & dignity... because I need to pay bills.
I'm meeting someone for lunch, then planning to drop in a Panera I saw with a "we're hiring" sign. Heck, I might get to make bread, & they probably give free meals.

Exactly.

See above.
I don't have a job because I haven't been hired... because I haven't been interviewed, and since I only apply for jobs I'm qualified for, I don't know why I haven't been interviewed.
And I don't see getting health & food assistance as "something for nothing".
I've paid taxes, back when I had a real job, & if I ever get another job I will pay taxes again. The gov't borrowed my money & is now giving it back.

Having a jacket on when you are cold that happens to cover your arm is not what I am talking about. It may be necessary to have a CPL because of the state law if you have a coat on, and yes, I have a CPL for winter carry myself. What I am talking about are the people that would wear that same jacket in 90° weather, just for the purpose of covering their arm, or in their hoody in that same 90°...If you live in TX you may not have a choice, but we are talking WA.

BTW: Why did you take it so personally? Are you one of the guys that thinks only LE is the only one that should properly OC? BTW: that saying is probably much older than you are, it's older than I am, and I'm retired on SS.
Because you made it so.

Honest men do not hide their weapons, only those that are up to no-good want to hide them.
